BottleDrop Account Frequently Asked Questions

No account is required to use the self-serve return machines or hand-count service at a BottleDrop Redemption Center. A BottleDrop account is required to use the Green Bag program.

You can sign up online any time. You can also sign up for a BottleDrop account by using the kiosk at any location where you can drop BottleDrop bags.

After you create your new account online, you’ll need to get your BottleDrop card, your Green Bags, and your bag tags.

First, log in to your online account to request your BottleDrop card. You’ll receive a temporary code that can be used at a Loyalty Kiosk to get your card. While you’re at the kiosk, be sure to print some bags tags, and purchase some Green Bags from the store or Redemption Center.

Find a Loyalty Kiosk at one of our Redemption Centers or at any store with a bag drop. Go to our Locations Finder, and select the “Bag Drop” filter to find a location near you.

It’s easy. Get started here. Have your BottleDrop card handy and log in with the password that was sent via email or text message. Once logged in, be sure to check out features like BottleDrop Plus, Give, and connections to the Oregon College Savings Plan.

If you signed up at a kiosk, log in with your 9-digit card number as your online username and the auto-generated password which was texted and/or emailed to you. (Need more help? Look up your card number or retrieve your password.)

Signing up for an account is free. A roll of 10 Green Bags costs $2.00, and a $0.40 fee is charged for each bag processed by BottleDrop. Bag tag stickers are required for each bag and are free to print from any BottleDrop kiosk. All bag purchases and processing fees are debited from the account, so no payment is required to get started.

The $0.40 processing fee is paid by the store/retailer (not charged to the BottleDrop account holder) for bags dropped at our partner retailer locations.

A BottleDrop account allows you to use the Green Bag program, the BottleDrop Plus program, the BottleDrop app, and the BottleBox program for BottleDrop Refillables. It also allows you to track your balance online, donate to charities, or transfer your refund value to an Oregon College Savings Plan.

The Green Bag program is intended for consumer use. BottleDrop does not offer a high volume business/corporate account. Businesses can work with their beverage distributor for container returns or return up to 350 containers per day using the BottleDrop reverse vending machines.

An individual who wants to redeem small quantities of containers (less than about 5 bags per month) from the workplace can create a BottleDrop account using their personal information. These accounts allow for the addition of a secondary account user who can share the account, or access it for oversight and reporting purposes.

Businesses that want to donate their empty beverage containers can do so using BottleDrop Give. Please contact for more information.

No. There is no limit to the amount of funds you can keep in your account, and funds do not expire. However, you can only withdraw a maximum of $99.90 in cash or store credit per day.

You can use your BottleDrop card to check your balance at any BottleDrop Redemption Center or BottleDrop retailer kiosk, on the BottleDrop App, or by signing in to your online account.

Use your BottleDrop account card at a BottleDrop kiosk to print a voucher, for up to $99.90 and take it to the cash register. Or withdraw it as a voucher at participating BottleDrop Plus retailers for 20% extra in-store credit. You can also visit a BottleDrop Redemption Center and use one of our Pay Stations to withdraw funds. Find locations now.

You are able to withdraw a maximum of $99.90 from your account per day—this is including BottleDrop Plus credit. For example, $50.00 in cash value is equal to $60.00 of in-store credit when using BottleDrop Plus.

You can get a replacement card at any BottleDrop Redemption Center or BottleDrop Express site using a kiosk. You can also request a replacement card by signing into your online account, or by contacting the customer service department.

You can update your PIN by signing in to your BottleDrop account through the app or signing in online, and then selecting the Edit Account tab. If you have any issues, please contact BottleDrop customer service.

Using an Oregon ID is an easy and safe way for us to verify your mailing address and to verify that you are setting up a valid account. Our system only stores your name and address along with the other information you share when setting up the account. Learn more about our privacy policy.
